Kerry has worked in the healthcare sector for 26 years. For the first 24 years he worked in the NHS as a nurse, as both a RGN and RMN. Kerry has a wealth of nursing experience, which covers community, oncology, theatre, mental health, occupational health, learning disability and working with the elderly mentally ill. He has also worked in care homes, as an agency nurse as relief cover. Supporting Kerry is Maggie Stratford who is responsible for recruitment, training and supervision. She has diverse skills, having been an RGN for 16 years, working in the NHS for seven years, and then as a manager of a nursing agency. Since 2000 Maggie has worked with the terminally ill at a local hospice. Kerry is also supported in the office by a team of people with experience of working within the healthcare sector. Darren's financial background spans 20 years. He has worked in many areas of finance, from supervisor of the Corporate Treasury Department to being a financial controller in the City with an American financial organisation. In 1997 he started his career in the care sector when he joined the nursing and care division of a healthcare organisation in the role of financial controller. Darren is now a part owner of Inter-County and responsible for all financial aspects of the company. Caroline's experience of the care sector started at a very early age. She was brought up in one of the four nursing homes owned by her parents, where her mother was matron. With this background, it seemed the natural step to move into the care sector, where she worked for 10 years. One of her many roles included being a carer for mentally and physically disabled children and with disabled adults. Wanting a change of career, she moved to London to work in retail as a senior manager. Eight years later, Caroline moved back to the care sector as manager of the Doctors Deputising Service, working for the same healthcare organisation as Darren. After some years, Caroline moved to the nursing and care division as area manager for south east England. In 2001 Caroline and Darren, recognising that by combining their complementary business skills they had the ideal combination for starting a business, joined forces to became the joint owners of Inter-County. |
