Bernadette has worked in the Health Care sector for a number of years and within a variety of settings. Her experience includes working with older people, and she has a passion for working with adults who are experiencing the effects of old age/frailty.
Our experienced, empathetic and enthusiastic care workers deliver personally tailored home care services in the Christchurch area. Our main focus is to provide those in need with unparalleled care in the familiarity and comfort of their own homes.
At Inter County, the well-being of our staff, clients and their family members is of the utmost importance. Our friendly and knowledgeable team will work alongside you to help you and your relatives with the most suitable solutions for your care needs, providing you with specialised carers who will always put your best interests first. We offer adult care at home services to suit most circumstances, our person-centric care plans are unique and can be developed according to your needs and wishes.
Inter-County provides a home care service that is flexible, friendly, efficient and professional. We fully understand how difficult it can be to adjust to the idea of needing help and support with day to day living and, with this in mind, we take time to create a personalised care service that reflects your individual needs and requirements. Our Care at Home service not only offers practical support to assist with daily tasks but also provides the encouragement and emotional support that is often needed to remain living independently – with your dignity and personal choice being paramount in all that we do.
Given a choice most of us would prefer to remain living in the comfort of our own homes. Sometimes, due to frailty or ill health, this is not always possible – but with Live-In Care you have the option to stay at home and be supported to live a full and active life. The arrangement of care and support can be for a continuous or short period of time. Live-In Care provides the support needed to help you with everyday living. It can also assist you with personal care, management of medication, general household tasks and support with appointments and social events
As a close family member you may well be making the difficult decision of choosing care for someone affected by dementia. Throughout the varying stages of dementia we are able to provide the necessary support to help people stay living at home, safely and independently, for as long as possible. By assessing people’s physical, personal and emotional needs we are able to design a package of care to meet specific requirements.
This service is needed for many different reasons and for varying periods of time. It can be required at a moment’s notice such as after an unexpected operation or illness, or when a full-time carer needs a holiday or suddenly goes sick. Short term care can also be planned in advance and Inter-County will provide cover for as much or as little time as required; this can be for a few hours a day, a week, over a weekend or right up to full-time Live-In Care. We provide a flexible service which can be adapted to each person’s situation and circumstances
A number of terms are used when a person is approaching the last stages of their life such as palliative care, supportive care, terminal care and end of life care. Whatever the terminology, it is always a traumatic and incredibly emotional time for everyone concerned. In these circumstances, Inter-County can help by providing experienced staff to give the reassurance, comfort and support needed during this difficult time. With care and sensitivity our carers can help the person retain a sense of hope and normality. Our holistic approach means we work closely with other Healthcare Professionals and Specialists to ensure that the person’s care needs are being met at all times.
This service is most suited to people who will benefit from having companionship and support when family members and friends are unable to visit regularly. Our carers will provide company and conversation, help you keep in contact with friends and assist with social activities. We provide you and your family with the reassurance that you are being visited regularly and maintaining your normal daily routine.
